Rocco "The Power Mullet" Derousie:
The Power Mullet" Derousie showcased his technical prowess and endurance by competing in both 9&10 and 11&12 divisions. In the younger bracket, Rocco secured second place with a 3-1 record, including two falls and a decision victory. Transitioning seamlessly to the 11&12 category, he maintained his momentum, again clinching second place. Here, Rocco demonstrated his versatility, executing a tech fall and adapting his strategy against more experienced opponents. Throughout the day, Rocco's signature power mullet remained unruffled as he efficiently chained together takedowns, escapes, and near falls. His performance across both brackets highlights his work ethic, determinations and dedication.
William "The Terminator" Polnaszek:
Quietly dominating two brackets. In the 9&10 114-118 lbs division, he secured first place with three consecutive (terminations) falls
Without breaking a sweat, William then stepped up to the 11&12 111-119 lbs category, where he continued his impressive run.
Despite facing older opponents, he clinched second place, adding a tech fall and two more pins to his tally. (only losing to cough cough one of coach t’s old wrestlers cough sorry William) William’s calm demeanor and his fierce competitiveness as he methodically worked through both brackets. His performance was great proving that sometimes the quietest wrestlers make the loudest statements on the mat. William truly kicked butt, took names, all while maintaining his nonchalant attitude.
Kaysin Carpenter: The Wild Banshee's Epic Challenge
Kaysin Carpenter, the "Wild Banshee," faced his toughest test yet at this tournament. Known for his undefeated pin record, Kaysin pushed his limits by competing in both 11&12 and 13,14&15 brackets. After a grueling match against Jesse Miller in the younger division, Kaysin immediately stepped up to face older opponents. It was here, wrestling back-to-back and against more experienced competition, that Kaysin's "never been pinned" streak finally ended. However, this wasn't a defeat but a testament to his growth. Kaysin left everything on the mat, showcasing his unwavering spirit by taking on challenges beyond his age group. This moment marked not an end, but a new beginning in Kaysin's wrestling journey, proving that true victory lies in pushing boundaries and embracing every challenge, regardless of the outcome.
Ty Swenson: Never Back Down
Ty Swenson showcased his versatility and determination by competing in both the 11&12 and 13,14&15 brackets. In the 11&12 165-176 lbs category, Ty dominated with two swift falls, securing first place. Undaunted by the challenge, he then stepped up to the 13,14&15 168-174 lbs division. Despite facing significantly older and more experienced opponents, Ty maintained a positive attitude throughout. He approached each match with enthusiasm, viewing it as an opportunity to learn rather than a daunting challenge. Although he didn't secure a win in the older bracket, Ty's willingness to compete against these "old geezers" Keep It up Ty!

Kinsley "Ponytails" Swenson had a challenging day at her first tournament in the 7&8 63-64 lbs weight class. Despite facing tough opponents, she showed determination and grit. Coach T had set a goal for Kinsley to work on her escapes, and she didn't disappoint. In her match against Joel Torres, Kinsley successfully executed her signature escape move, showcasing the progress she's made in practice. Although she didn't secure a win, Kinsley's perseverance and achievement of her personal goal made her coaches proud.
Jameson "Shakey Legs" Faries: “MANIMAL”
Jameson "Shakey Legs" Faries had an outstanding tournament in the 9&10 69-70 lbs weight class. Despite his nickname, there was nothing shaky about his performance. Jameson dominated his bracket, securing first place with an impressive four falls1. His quickest pin came in just 18 seconds against Easton Mitchell. Jameson's aggressive style and technical skills were on full display, earning him 18 team points and the admiration of his coaches and teammates.
Gabriel "JR" Ruelas
Gabriel "JR" Ruelas competed in the 9&10 80-83 lbs weight class, showing great promise and improvement throughout the day. After a tough loss in his first match, Gabriel bounced back with determination. He secured a hard-fought decision victory in his second match, demonstrating his growing tactical awareness. Gabriel's highlight came in his third match, where he pinned his opponent in 1:16, showcasing his skills.
Natalie "Beast Mode" Ruelas:
Natalie "Beast Mode" Ruelas lived up to her nickname in the 9&10 105-111 lbs weight class. She started the tournament with an explosive tech fall victory, dominating her opponent 18-2. Although she faced a setback in her second match, Natalie didn't let it shake her confidence. She came back with a vengeance, securing two consecutive pins in her next matches. Her fastest fall came in just 20 seconds, proving why she's called "Beast Mode."
